The Windrush generation, their families and all those from Commonwealth nations who arrived in the UK over the same period will not pay for citizenship application and won’t need to pass their citizenship test.
Amber Rubb promised speedy compensation to all those who had “suffered loss” and is “personally committed to resolving this situation with urgency and purpose.”
She revealed today in the House of Commons that the Windrush generation is considered as British although “under the current rules this is not the case.”
Amber Rudd, who is facing resignation calls, said she would do her best to “right the wrongs” that have been done.
Since the Windrush Scandal went viral, two personalities are targeted by resignations calls: the Prime Minister Teresa May and the Home Secretary Amber Rubb.
Windrush is not only a special case but “a tip of a nasty iceberg of immigration injustice” according to some reactions on social media.
